This notice covers VantaFive’s website at vantafive.com and Agency Notes, John Ghiorso’s newsletter. The portfolio companies and other websites we link to have their own privacy practices.

Information involved

• Subscriptions: your email address, signup source, confirmation and subscription status, and related delivery and engagement information.
• Messages to us: the contact details and information you choose to include when you get in touch.
• Website and service activity: technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, referral information and connection events processed by our hosting, security and newsletter providers.

We use this information to operate and protect the website, deliver and manage the newsletter, respond to requests, understand newsletter performance and meet applicable legal obligations.

Agency Notes and beehiiv

We use beehiiv to provide the signup page and deliver Agency Notes. Selecting “Subscribe to Agency Notes” takes you to our signup page on beehiiv, which processes subscription and technical information under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not load beehiiv’s signup scripts or an embedded form on this website.

New signups are asked to confirm their email address. Newsletter delivery and engagement measurement can include whether an email image loads and which links are clicked. This helps us understand delivery and readership; privacy tools can affect those measurements.

You can unsubscribe using a newsletter email’s unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the newsletter but does not automatically delete every subscriber or delivery record. Contact us if you also want to request deletion.

Cookies and your choices

Webflow and Cloudflare provide website hosting and security. Cloudflare may use security cookies, including _cfuvid and __cf_bm, to manage traffic and protect the service. This website does not include third-party advertising pixels.

Following the signup link takes you to beehiiv, where that service may use cookies and process device and connection information. You can read this website and the Journal without visiting the signup page.

Your browser’s settings let you block or remove cookies. Some service features may stop working if cookies are blocked. This website does not change its behavior in response to the older browser “Do Not Track” setting. Other providers’ privacy controls, including any applicable sale or sharing opt-outs, are described in their notices.

Service providers and other websites

Information is handled by providers supporting hosting, website security, email delivery, subscription management and business communications. These include Webflow, Cloudflare, beehiiv and Google Workspace. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries, and may also process certain information for their own purposes as described in their notices.

Retention and security

We retain information as needed for the purposes described here, including managing an active subscription, honoring unsubscribe requests, resolving issues, protecting the service and meeting legal obligations. Relevant factors include the information’s purpose and sensitivity, account or subscription status, provider retention practices and any legal requirement to keep a record. There is no single retention period for every category.

Security measures reduce risk, but no website, email service or storage system can guarantee complete security. Please do not send passwords, payment details or other sensitive information through a privacy request.

Privacy requests

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, obtain a copy of, correct or delete information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision about a request. Email john@vantafive.com with your request and the email address associated with your subscription. You do not need to create an account to contact us.

We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing personal information. An authorized agent may need to show permission to act for you. Some information may be retained where law permits or requires it. We will handle requests according to applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

This site and newsletter are intended for business readers, not children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review it.

Changes to this notice

We will update the date on this page when this notice changes and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
